• CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE

LH (Luteinizing hormone), also known as corpus luteinizing homone, is a glycoprotein produced by the adenohypophysis. The effect on women contains ovulation and luteal formation, regulating the menstrual cycle and promoting the synthesis of estrogen and androgens. The effect on men is promoting the maturation of testicular stromal cells and the secretion of androgens. LH levals peak in the middle of the menstrual cyele, so LH measurements arepredictive ofovulation timing.
